Donna R. Hartney

For more than 15 years, Donna Hartney has worked with her clients to boost the performance of their people.  She has consulted with a range of clients in business, industry and government.   She has also served as an internal consultant to the management consultants of Ernst & Young.  Donna earned a Ph.D. focused on human resource development and organizational change.  She specializes in the following areas:

Donna’s experience includes:

  • Conducted workshops nationally and internationally for acquired personnel at several businesses within a Fortune 50 company.  Courses included an orientation to company culture and HR systems, interpersonal communication, facilitation skills, interviewing job candidates, performance management, conflict management, time management, teamwork, and leadership.
  • Taught influencing skills to personnel of a Fortune 250 diversified industrial manufacturer.
  • Designed and taught facilitation skills courses to human resources personnel of a big four accounting firm.  Conducted sessions to provide extensive videotaped practice, multi-point feedback and real-world simulations that netted useable results.
  • Taught leadership development skills to mid-level U.S. managers of a German automobile manufacturer.
  • Designed and taught an emotional intelligence course to county government personnel in a major U.S. metropolitan area.
  • Taught organizational change concepts and techniques to managers of a big three automobile manufacturer.
  • Designed and conducted train-the-trainer sessions for instructors of a Fortune 250 global consumer products company. 
  • Trained team building facilitators at an eastern regional bank.  Supervised their work at an off-site retreat.
  • Designed and delivered an innovative thinking course for marketing professionals of an international food service and bakery corporation.  Resulted in the identification of new product ideas that withstood the company’s highly rigorous review process and were approved for development. 
  • Led facilitation skills development programs for consultants at a big four accounting firm.  Provided instruction, role modeling and skills coaching.
  • Taught teamwork and presentation skills portions of an extensive seven-week simulation for newly hired management consultants at a global consulting firm.  Classroom modules focused on goal setting, work style differences, stress management, problem solving, communication skills, and conflict management.  Conducted and debriefed experiential team building activities.
