Carla Callender brings more than 15 years of Human Resources and Operational Management experience to her role as a Leadership Trainer. Carla has played an integral part in business start-ups, maintenance and process improvement programs. Carla’s experience includes the hiring, development and retention of professional staff through the implementation of effective coaching, leadership initiatives, performance management and training development systems. 

Carla has worked with a number of companies on consulting and training projects including General Electric (GE), Corporate World Communications/Public Relations, Inc., Kellogg’s, PepsiCo, Per Se’ Technologies and Quaker Oats. In addition, she held prior roles at GE across the following businesses: GE Appliances, GE Capital and GE Industrial Systems in the positions of Human Resources Manager, Staffing Manager and Manager Help Desk Services-Information Technology.
 
Carla is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. Carla holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Political Science as well as a Master of Education Degree from the University of Louisville in Human Resources Education with an emphasis on Organizational Design and Development. Carla is also very committed to making a positive impact in the community by serving as the Board Co-Chair of the DeKalb County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Program, an American Red Cross Volunteer and member of Leadership DeKalb.
